Faith, Excellence, and Four Victories:
HNU’s Bible Quiz Champions Rise Again

Holy Name University proudly celebrates four major championship victories in recent Bible Quiz competitions, reflecting the institution’s commitment to faith formation, academic excellence, and spiritual leadership.

The winning streak began at the Knights of Columbus Bible Quiz (District Level) on December 12, 2025, where Stephanie Ruaya and Tem Masalta led HNU to victory. This was followed by another triumph at the Knights of Columbus Bible Quiz for the Diocese of Tagbilaran and Talibon Level on January 25, 2026, with Stephanie Ruaya once again securing the championship.

On January 26, 2026, HNU claimed its third title at the Provincial Capitol of Bohol Bible Quiz Bee, through the strong partnership of Stephanie Ruaya and Josh Howie Cericos. The series of victories culminated on February 7, 2026, at the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) Inter-School Bible Quiz, where Stephanie Ruaya and Josh Howie Cericos emerged as champions.

These achievements were made possible through the dedication, discipline, and guidance of the team, and with the invaluable mentorship of their esteemed coach, Mr. Rufino Ocon, CREAM Academic Head and IBED CLE Coordinator, whose leadership and commitment to faith formation continue to inspire excellence among Holynamians. These four victories stand as a testament to HNU’s mission of forming students who are grounded in faith, excellence, and service—true witnesses to the Word in both knowledge and life.
